About the show

At DW-RADIO, we pride ourselves on keeping you apace with what is happening "at the heart of Europe" -- and that includes the cultural scene. In addition to our weekly broadcast "Arts on the Air," from this winter onwards, "Inspired Minds" brings you portraits of some of the world's most talented artists, interviewed while touring the continent. From Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling to conductor Kurt Masur, host Breandáin O'Shea talks to the world's "Inspired Minds." You can also find clips from the interviews and extensive information about the artists on the Internet at Inspiredminds.de.

About Inspired Minds Host
Breandáin O'Shea:

Jessye Norman, Armistead Maupin, Karlheinz Stockhausen. These are just a few of the world renowned artists that Breandáin O'Shea has interviewed in his career as an arts journalist. Breandáin came to radio in the '90s as producer and host of DW-RADIO's weekly arts magazine, "Arts on the Air." The program was awarded a gold medal in 2002 at the New York Festivals for the most outstanding radio series featuring art and culture. Breandáin's expertise in the arts stems from the fact that he himself is a performer and studied singing with some of Europe's leading teachers. He has also worked professionally as an orchestral flautist and jazz pianist.
